Jarred Black, our General Manager, took over as general manager of Larry H. Miller Volkswagen in Lakewood, Colo., in May 2013.

That is an excerpt from the Automotive News. Jarred was named to Automotive News’ 40 Under 40: Retail which recognizes dynamic individuals in automotive dealerships under the age of 40.

Automotive News evaluated nominations from across the U.S. and Canada and identified the top performers in a large field of high caliber talent at dealerships. These dynamic employees were profiled in the July 14 issue of Automotive News. Jarred was one of them.

It feels great. This definitely is one of the most prestigious awards I have won in my young career because this business is all about the customer and I wouldn’t have received this award if it wasn’t for all the satisfied customer reviews! To be honest, I owe it all to my staff. This award is all about them and they are the ones that received this award.

As a General Manager, what does this award mean to the store?

This award is priceless. I look at it as the “customer choice” award, since this is truly based on my customers’ reviews! There isn’t a better honor than to be able to tell your customer we have been the only dealer in Colorado to be voted the DealerRater ‘Dealer of the Year’ and it is based on customer reviews of how they were treated in our Sales, Parts and Service departments.
