Dream Goal: $550 a Year for Fuel

It’s easy being green. Well, it is in a Volkswagen e-Golf SE, which was recently named the 2017 AAA Green Car Guide’s Top Green Vehicle in the compact car category.

Facing off against 21 other compact cars, the 2016 Volkswagen e-Golf won in 13 different categories, including slalom handling, visibility, EPA emissions, ride quality and interior noise.

If you’re into that, just wait. It gets better.

You’ll love the 2017 Volkswagen e-Golf even more. Volkswagen improved the EPA-estimated range and fuel economy, by incorporating a lithium-ion battery—increasing the driving range from 83 to 125 miles.

Can you imagine paying an estimated annual fuel cost of just $550 a year? It could be possible with the fuel economy of 126 MPGe in the city, 111 on the highway and a combined MPGe of 119.

Although it’s running on batteries, the power is in no way hindered, in fact, it’s charged up from the 2016 model. The new motor develops 134 horsepower in comparison to 115 in the 2016 e-Golf. The 2017 model runs zero to 60 mph in just 9.6 seconds with a top speed of 93 mph.
